A woman seeking to become only the third woman ever to successfully bring a sexual harassment case in Russia was dealt a shocking rebuke when the judge threw out her case, ruling that sexual harassment is actually necessary for the survival of the human race.

Terrible. Telegraph UK reports that, since Soviet times, "sexual harassment in Russia has become an accepted part of life in the office, work place and university lecture room." The woman should be commended for her courage, despite the outcome. Imagine what could happen if there was a united movement of women who refused to accept sexual harassment as status quo, and Russian courts were flooded with these lawsuits. It could change the way women are regarded in the Russian workplace.
