Subaru's "Zero Landfill Waste" Auto Plant Raises the Bar

An auto factory isn't something that barrels into your environmental consciousness like a 3-ton SUV. But it's time we looked beyond the cars in the showrooms to how those cars are made. This article makes me want to buy a Subaru, except the ones they make at this plant get significantly worse gas mileage than my Camry... I wonder what is more important it is to buy a car that was made at a plant that leads the world in green manufacturing or to buy a car that gets really good gas mileage? (Seems to be no compromise on this at the moment.) What do you think?
