Founded in 2003, The World Family mission is to improve the quality of health care in Ethiopia, reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS and other preventable diseases, and support comprehensive care for orphans through self sufficient and sustainable programs.

The World Family's mission is two-fold:

Improve the quality of health care in Ethiopia and reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS and other preventable diseases by:
- Providing medical equipment and supplies for Ethiopian rural health care centers that provide services for the community with HIV/AIDS testing and counseling, malaria net distribution, and education on family planning, nutrition, personal and community hygiene
- Supporting health extension workers with provision of bicycles and backpacks to reach out to the community with health education
- Recycling excess medical equipment into valuable resources

Support comprehensive care for orphans and their communities through self-sufficient and sustainable programs by providing:
- Health care services
- Academic support
- Community education on topics such as: water filtration systems, environmental awareness, community hygiene, nutrition, HIV/AIDS, malaria and other preventable diseases
- Vocational and life skills training programs such as: farming, livestock rearing, building trade, craft and the empowerment of women.
